5th Wedding Anniversary
This week marks our 5th wedding anniversary! How time has flown! It doesn’t seem like 5 minutes ago I was a bubbling mess seeing my beautiful wife walk down the isle. Sarah and I decided to celebrate by having a night away in the Lake District. We visited a place called Grasmere and took our pooch Daisy along for the journey. We like to take her with us when we visit the lakes as the walks are tremendous for her and pretty much everywhere is dog-friendly. She’s also very keen on a swim! We only stayed one night but we got to visit Grasmere lake and Thirlmere lake. Both of them were really nice to visit, very relaxing.
aside from the wedding anniversary, we had a pretty busy weekend. We went to our local pub annual band festival, seen some great bands and I decided to stay up late and watch the McGregor vs Mayweather fight which subsequently meant I slept all day Sunday. My days of pulling all nighters are definitely going to come to an abrupt end shortly so I figured I’d take the opportunity while I still could.
My brother and two sisters also visited us which was nice as I don’t see them half as much as I should. It was great to catch up with them. We had some drinks and played Speak Out which led to probably one of the funniest nights I’ve ever had. If you haven’t tried that game, you absolutely must!
I don’t think she’d admit it but Sarah is well and truly nesting at the moment. We recently had a new kitchen installed which has now finally been painted. She’s ordered new doors, light bulbs and seems obsessed about things ‘being done’. Prior to the siblings visiting I cleaned the house from top to bottom much to her delight. I think she’s finally realizing we’re going to have a little person here soon and wants everything to be perfect.
As our due date closes in on us, one of the things people have recommended to us is a waterproof mattress cover. This is going to stop the damage done to our mattress if Sarah’s waters pop while we’re in bed. It’s just as well someone mentioned it to us as we’ve not long bought a new mattress and it’d be a shame to have to throw it if it does happen while she’s asleep. I feel like 5 years old me going to bed at the moment as the rustle is quite annoying!
The hospital bag continues to dominate most of Sarahs time this week. She’s been out buying more stuff and at this point, I honestly couldn’t tell you what’s in the bag anymore.
