My name is Shaun, I’m a 30-year-old web developer residing in the
sunny United Kingdom and this is Baby vs Beard. A blog about my journey as a first-time parent. In 2006 I started dating my beautiful other half Sarah. Fast forward 11 years, we’re happily married and expecting our first born in October 2017. I have created this blog to document our journey through pregnancy and parenthood.
Gamer, developer, sports enthusiast. 3 words that sum me up quite nicely. I have been gaming since the age of 14 when my parents bought my first computer and started developing websites not long after that. One of which is now my job. I work in the public sector in the UK as a front end developer and in my spare time, I still love playing games.
When I’m not gaming or developing, I’m usually watching sports, listening to music or doing cool stuff with the wife (like hoverboarding). My favourite drink is coffee, my favourite food is Chinese and my favourite colour is black. I love dogs, martial arts, beer and learning. I have a dry sense of humour, an addictive personality and a kind nature.

About The Family
At the time of writing this, we are a family of 4. We have my beautiful wife Sarah, our little dog Daisy and our grumpy old
cat Simba. In October 2017 we’ll become 5 as we welcome our daughter into the world. Words can’t explain how excited we are!
Sarah and I have been together now for 11 years and married for 5. She’s my best friend, my rock, my world…and a massive pain in the arse sometimes. She’s the kindest person I’ve ever met, she’s funny, witty and can see the good in anyone. She loves long walks near the ocean and visiting new places. We make a great team and she makes me a better person every day. We’ve been through thick and thin and she’s always there for me.
Our little dog Daisy is 3 years old. We thought we were getting a border terrier but instead, we got a cross between a shit-zhu. She has a very good temperament, is well trained and absolutely loves chasing a ball. She’s one of the family!
Last but not least, the old man Simba. Simba decided one day about 6 years ago that he would move into our house…uninvited. The old man never left and quite honestly has a bigger attitude problem than a 13-year-old boy going through puberty. He’s 17 years old, he knows what he wants and he will make enough racket to wake the entire street to get what he wants.
